The history of the development of legislation of the order of restoration of lost materials of criminal proceedings is analyzed. Author discloses the content and functional purpose of the activity for the restoration of lost materials of criminal proceedings. In the article has been focused attention on the imperfection of the provisions of the modern legislative constructing. Author suggests the theoretical model developed for the reconstruction of lost materials in criminal proceedings.
