Ukraine’s declared course towards joining the European Union requires a reassessment by our society of its worldview approaches in the field of state-building, a departure from traditional Soviet stereotypes in envisioning its future, and corresponding modernization of the domestic Constitution.

The study substantiates the main directions of constitutional changes, which should be aimed at achieving a European level of socio-economic development in the country, improving the foundations of Ukraine’s constitutional order, the legal status of individuals and citizens, the existing system of governance, the mechanism of public authority, and the territorial structure of our country.

It is concluded that constitutional reform in Ukraine, as a factor in the constitutionalization of Ukraine’s European course, must be comprehensive, systematic, and complete, occurring strictly within the framework of the provisions of Chapter XIII of the Constitution of Ukraine, and result in the development of proposals for amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine based on the generalization of the practice of implementing the Basic Law of Ukraine, considering the achievements and trends in the development of modern European constitutionalism, the democratic values promoted by the European community, while also anticipating the functioning of the future constitutional model of public relations based on the concept of constitutional patriotism. The synergy of this approach is expected to bring Ukraine to a qualitatively new level of societal development, ensuring a life worthy of a modern human for every Ukrainian, and securing the rightful place of the Ukrainian people in the European Union.
