The article examines the problematic aspects concerning with acquisition of intellectual property rights on geographical indication according to legislation of Ukraine. Here is made a conclusion that the legal structure states the cause of acquisition of such rights including state registration of geographical indication and state registration of the right on its using. Also it is considered the possibility of acquisition of intellectual property rights on geographical indication by derivative causes (contract, inheritance, reorganization).
