| Abstract | The issues of legal systems types according to legal families with a view to work out proper methodological basis of their research are studied in the article. Characteristics of a legal system and its components are given in the article. The author analyzes approaches to classification of legal systems since 1874, up to contemporary ones. It is argued that an ideological component (legal awareness and legal culture of society) should be considered the main criterium of combining legal systems in legal families. Other phenomena of a legal system (legal norms and their system, sources of law, etc.) result from the above ideological component. |
